CASE-3

Synopsis

Amei Kanna is a school dropout that has holed himself up in his dad's garage.

He has given up on life and started living in his family's broken down camper car.

The car is full of memories he had with his late mother. Ever since he lost her,
his life has lost meaning, thus he became a sad shell of his former self.

All those times with her mom, enjoying life together with his father before the death
in the family changed him for the worse.
For Kanna, that broken down car held all those dears memories.

But one day, a teacher in training visits him.
A fiery and decisive woman called Momonouchi Sumomo.

"Come to school", she entreats to him.

Despite his initial reticence, Sumomo refuses to give up on the young truant.

Annoyed by the woman's strong insistence, Kanna quickly expels her from his mancave.

That night as Kanna sleeps in the camper, he wakes up to a nostalgic rocking
and a feel of warmth against his face.

"Mom...?" He asks, rubbing at his still groggy eyes.

But to his surprise, the warmth he felt was Sumomo's tight embrace,
and the strange rocking was actually the car in movement!

Before he can even begin to process all of these outrageous occurrences,
the car comes to a sudden stop, and someone climbs down from the driver's seat.

When he snaps out of his daze and identifies the thief as the repairwoman Matsukaze Azuki,
he sneaks into the driver's seat and steps on the gas.

However, perhaps the nervousness, or perhaps the fact he didn't have a drivers license
didn't help the poor, stunned youth. Before long, the car tragically smashed against
Azuki's dwelling and ignited a towering fire!

Azuki rushed out of her burning hideout and tried to wrestle the handle of
the car from the panicking young man!

"This happened because of you! Why even take a wheel if you can't heckin' drive?!
Now my bike is ruined and my house is a bunch of burned scrap!"
The woman exclaimed, clearly at her wit's end.

"If you don't want me calling the cops on you, you'll let me stay at your place!"
the self-proclaimed scrap hunter concluded, imposing her will on the clearly terrified young man.

Sumomo, quick on the uptake, did not miss her opportunity to leverage Kanna's sudden weakness.

"I want some of that pie too!" Sumomo exclaimed, as she clambered down the camper
with her hair still a ruffled mess.

"If you don't come to school, I'll spill the beans about what happened here!
My lips are made of paper!" She said, quirking a dopey smile.

On one hand, the smug teacher in training.
On the other, the wolfish scrap hunter.

And so, Kanna lost the reins of his life to these two slightly unusual women.

Nariyama City, 2061.

It has been fifteen years since the artificial pigeons, who were responsible
for the world's communication infrastructure, started eating the radio
waves and rendering all communication devices useless.

Our story begins in Nariyama Sky Academy, the building that rose from
the ashes of the old Nariyama Airport Terminal 2 after the disastrous
incident fifteen years ago.

Amei Kanna is a student of this illustrious academic facility, created with
the hopes of regaining the skies for humanity once again.

CHARACTER

DATABASE_

Sumomo Momonouchi

VA_Yuu Asakawa

A hopeful teacher-in-training that landed on Nariyama Sky Academy

to perform her teaching practice.

Never one to overthink matters too much, she prefers to enjoy life as it comes

and see the bright side of things. She can just barely count her number of

past boyfriends with both hands. Not too few or too many by her reckoning.

Her rocky studies to become a teacher are what brought her to

Kanna's classroom, as if by the work of providence.

The concept of pride doesn't exist for this carefree soul of a woman.

Sumomo vacantly stares at the society of men,

where every aspect of life is a rat race where guys compare to each other,

pull the rug from under each other, and live and die by the worth of

their perceived accomplishments.

She stares on and wonders if living in such a constant state of stress

is fun, and why people wouldn't rather just take it easy

and try to live out their dreams without looking over

their shoulders every step of the way.

Something must be made clear from the outset.

Starting a relationship with such a woman could be difficult for

virgin boys with low self esteem. The mind of such a person

would undoubtedly grow resentful and mad with jealousy.

The heart of such a man would surely be driven astray by

pervasive thoughts on how they compare to her ex-boyfriends,

wondering if they're headed to the same destination as them.

Whether asleep or awake, their mind would be occupied wondering where

Sumomo is and what she is doing, and most importantly, with whom.

However, all these feelings would be met with confusion

by a free soul that lives in the moment like Sumomo.

If someone wants you now, what is the point of obsessing

about the past and growing jealous of old ghosts? Sometimes,

we men get too lost in our pride and jealousy to see what's ahead of us

and look towards the future instead.

It only brings a wave of self-derision and disgust over caring about such things,

followed by a sense of defeat as women like Sumomo fail to understand

the mental hangups we so often fall prey to, which leads to a sense of self-denial.

How can we men be so weak?

And at the end of many sleepless nights, we men finally obtain the courage to raise

a white flag to such women and recognize the world doesn't revolve around us.

Such is the courage facing a woman like Sumomo gives.

It is not an easy road to walk. However, when you're on your dying bed,

you'll surely remember and be glad to have met a woman like

Momonouchi Sumomo, and the lessons you learned.
